Calvin and Hobbes
|||||family guy on tv||]|
Hey everyone! Long time no posts... boo.
Alright, I have a few questions...
1- Who is your favourite character from Calvin and Hobbes and why? (Besides Calvin or Hobbes, if you can.)
2- What is the quote/comic you remember most, and why do you think you remember it so well?
3- Have you ever learned a life lesson/some kind of wisdom from C&H? If so, what was it? Have you ever applied something you read in C&H to a situation in real life?
4- Who is your favourite Calvin Alter-Ego? (Spaceman Spiff, Tracer Bullet, etc.) OR (and) what was your favourite thing Calvin did to himself? (Transmogrified, cloned, etc.)
My favourite character (besides the two main ones) is probably Rosalyn, the babysitter. She's got a great real-life teenage attitude and she and Calvin have this awesome chemistry. The comics with Calvin (or whatever alter ego) vs Rosalyn are hilarious.
The comic I remember most I think is the one where Calvin's dad tries to convince Calvin that they're going to keep the Christmas tree in the garage this year. I remember it, I think, because when I was young, I confused "garage" for "garbage" and I didn't understand it until I reread it a few times. Also, from that same Christmas, when Calvin is listening to "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" and states, "Santa Claus: Kindly Old Elf or a CIA Spook?" I died.
I don't know if I've applied anything to real life... or if I've learned lessons from C&H... I'd have to think about it and read all of my books all over again. Could take time.
My favourite alter ego is Tracer Bullet, because the time period he imitates kind of rocks.
