Bath Time [Mar. 19th, 2007|01:32 pm]
Calvin and Hobbes

Can anyone post or does anyone know where I can find a a link to the particular Calvin and Hobbes comic where Calvin was taking a bath and was a whale (or maybe a shark if I am remembering wrong).  I'd like to use it for a project and I cannot find it anywhere.

What is your favorite quote ever from Calvin and Hobbes?

Mine would have to be "Calvin, go do something you hate! Being miserable builds character!"

I know Waterson is against it, but.... [Jul. 6th, 2006|08:29 pm]

Am I the only one who really wants a Hobbes doll? I know Waterson doesn't like the idea of settling Hobbes' reality with a doll and all of that, but I still want one. Obviously I know I can't buy one for the afformentioned reason, but does anyone know where I could find plans to make one? Has anyone made one?

Honestly, Hobbes is the perfect friend.

So, anyone have a Hobbes doll and want to share their secret/pattern/anything?

I made some Calvine and Hobbes icons, which you can find here. (There are 30 of them - slow browsers beware.)
If you like them, please let me know (and feel free to take, with credit). I would very much like to know what you think of them.

Hello, just joined! I'm Ellie, and I got into Calvin and Hobbes a year or so ago (gaspIwaitedtoolong) and I love it! I've collected and read all the books - since last Christmas I got four. I'm on the lookout at the moment for 'It's a Magical World' - I hope I get it this Christmas. My favourite character's Hobbes and my favourite Calvin alter-ego is Tracer Bullet, because he's sharp and witty.

Anyway, I'll pop up from time to time. Well done for such a brilliant LJ community!

Hey everyone! Long time no posts... boo.

Alright, I have a few questions...

1- Who is your favourite character from Calvin and Hobbes and why? (Besides Calvin or Hobbes, if you can.)
2- What is the quote/comic you remember most, and why do you think you remember it so well?
3- Have you ever learned a life lesson/some kind of wisdom from C&H? If so, what was it? Have you ever applied something you read in C&H to a situation in real life?
4- Who is your favourite Calvin Alter-Ego? (Spaceman Spiff, Tracer Bullet, etc.) OR (and) what was your favourite thing Calvin did to himself? (Transmogrified, cloned, etc.)

My favourite character (besides the two main ones) is probably Rosalyn, the babysitter. She's got a great real-life teenage attitude and she and Calvin have this awesome chemistry. The comics with Calvin (or whatever alter ego) vs Rosalyn are hilarious.

The comic I remember most I think is the one where Calvin's dad tries to convince Calvin that they're going to keep the Christmas tree in the garage this year. I remember it, I think, because when I was young, I confused "garage" for "garbage" and I didn't understand it until I reread it a few times. Also, from that same Christmas, when Calvin is listening to "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" and states, "Santa Claus: Kindly Old Elf or a CIA Spook?" I died.

I don't know if I've applied anything to real life... or if I've learned lessons from C&H... I'd have to think about it and read all of my books all over again. Could take time.

My favourite alter ego is Tracer Bullet, because the time period he imitates kind of rocks.
